Göta Hotel in Borensberg will be run by Svecia Travels AB from 1 February.
The entrepreneur has signed a contract with AB Göta kanalbolag, who own the property. The operation will be taken over from Green Venue Hotels, who had previously announced that they were leaving the highly profiled hotel for Göta kanal.
Anrika Göta Hotel, built in 1908, is situated on a narrow spit of land between the Göta Canal and the Motala River. The hotel has 12 rooms, two dining rooms, and a large outdoor seating area. The building was purchased in 2016 by AB Göta Kanalbolag, who previously only owned the land. Svecia Travels AB, which takes over the operation on 1 February, has previously managed Stocklycke Hostel and has for many years run a booking and packaging business with a focus on the Göta Canal destination.
As property owners, we are very pleased that there will now be a smooth transition without any interruption to the operation of Göta Hotel. This ensures good accessibility for both Borensberg and along the Göta Canal in the short and long term, says Henrik Pettersson, Property Manager, AB Göta Canal Company.
Hotel accommodation will be available from March and the restaurant is planned to open in time for the summer canal season. The Göta Canal opens for traffic on May 2nd.
- We are proud to manage this, for the Göta Canal-profiled hotel. It will also be a really good complement to strengthen our work with package deals and the range of experiences for visitors along the Göta Canal, says Lotta Karlsson, CEO of Svecia Travels AB.
