The expansion is taking place in stages of the northern and southern parts of the airport terminal to meet the demand for passengers and contribute to building the airport of the future.
2017 was another record year for Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, which is now approaching seven million passengers in one year. To ensure and improve capacity for baggage handling and security screening, Swedavia is developing the northern part of the terminal building.
The project, Terminal Expansion North, includes the construction of a new hotel connected to the terminal, a joint security check for domestic and international travelers and a new baggage hotel. The contracting party for the contract is Peab and the operator of the hotel will be Scandic. The signing of the agreements took place on Friday, February 23, 2018.
Since 2012, the number of travelers has increased by over 40 million, says Charlotte Ljunggren, Airport Director Gothenburg Landvetter Airport.
