Gotlandsbolaget and Viking Line will form a joint company with the task of developing and offering cruises with M/S Birka Stockholm between Stockholm-Mariehamn and Stockholm-Mariehamn-Visby, according to a press release.
Gotlandsbolaget acquired M/S Birka Stockholm in March 2023 for approximately 38 million euros and has now agreed to sell 50 percent of the vessel to Viking Line for 19 million euros.
”"The shipping companies are starting a new joint company that will develop and offer cruises between Stockholm, Mariehamn and Visby, as well as possibly also destination cruises in the Baltic Sea region," it says.
Traffic start is planned for spring 2024.
