The British government announced on Thursday that 47 countries are being removed from the so-called red list of states from which entry is prohibited.
The new rules will go into effect on Monday morning, October 11. Only seven countries remain on the updated list of entry bans: Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru and Venezuela.
For travelers from Mexico, Brazil and South Africa, this means that travelers are not forced into corona quarantine in hotels.
The reason for the decision, says Transport Minister Grant Shapps, is the increased vaccination rate in the world.
