Larger operating loss than expected from SAS's soon-to-be owner

The French-Dutch airline Air France-KLM reported an operating loss of 489 million euros in the first quarter, according to the interim report.

Expected, according to estimates from S&P Global Market Intelligence, was an operating loss of 411 million euros.

Sales for the first quarter came in at EUR 6.7 billion, an increase of 5 percent compared to the same quarter a year earlier.

The consensus for turnover was 6.5 billion euros. 

Air France-KLM reiterates forecasts for 2024.
