The charter recently celebrated 70 years in Sweden – and interest remains strong. According to new statistics from travel agency Ticket, the majority of this summer's charter bookings are to Greece, with booking pressure far exceeding other popular destinations.
The charter may be 70 years old – but it has hardly lost its relevance. According to travel agency Ticket, Greece dominates this summer's charter bookings. The number of bookings there is more than three times higher than to Spain, which is the second most booked charter country.
The latest survey from Ticket shows that security is an important factor behind the choice to book charter trips. Many Swedes experience it as a great advantage that an organizer is responsible for the entire trip – from booking to return home. The simplicity of the booking process itself is also highlighted as a clear reason why many prefer charters over other forms of travel.
– We see a clear attraction in what is safe and comfortable. Safety may weigh even more heavily now, when the world around us is perceived as more uncertain. Then it feels extra valuable that someone else has an eye on the details – and is there if something were to happen, says Tiyoneh Jah, PR and communications manager at Ticket.
