Two companies have been suspected of crimes in connection with the accident on the Jetline roller coaster last summer, where one person died and several were injured. One of the companies is Gröna Lund, the newspaper writes. New Technology.
It was in late June 2023 that a support arm on the underside of the front car of the roller coaster snapped, causing the train to hit joints in the rails and brake sharply. Passengers were thrown forward against the safety bar and three people fell out.
The accident has been investigated by both the Swedish Accident Investigation Board and the police. According to the Swedish Accident Investigation Board, the welds in the support arm were of insufficient strength. The support arm that broke in two places was newly manufactured and had been installed on the train earlier in the spring.
The police investigation is being conducted under the criminal classification of aggravated causing death, aggravated causing bodily harm and causing danger to another.
Now, two companies have been notified of suspicion of crimes in connection with the Jetline accident, according to documents filed with the Stockholm District Court. One company is Gröna Lund and the other company operates in the Gothenburg area. Which company is involved is confidential.
