The Italian government is following France's line and introducing mandatory vaccination certificates for, among other things, restaurant visits.
Instead of being forced to shut down society completely, the hope is to stop the spread of the delta variant through mandatory Covid passports.
”"I don't want to ruin the lives of millions of Italians who haven't had time to take their second or third dose of vaccine," says right-wing nationalist Lega leader Matteo Salvini, who is against the decision.
