Guests stuck at Kebnekaise mountain station

Several guests are stuck at Kebnekaise mountain station. The hot and windy weather means that it is not possible to get down from the mountain in any way at the moment.

– Very strong and warm winds are blowing. This has caused watercourses and water-filled areas to rise so that there is no more ice, says Carl Johan Ingeström, who works at the mountain station.

It is not possible to get down by skis or snowmobiles due to the high water levels. At the same time, the strong winds make it impossible to get helicopters there.

– We advise people not to try to get out of here. But we are trying to get helicopters here in the next few days that can fly our guests out, says Carl Johan Ingeström.

He also says that the whole thing is an unusual situation, something like this hasn't happened in several years.
