He will take up the position on July 1 of this year. Gunnar has worked in the aviation industry for almost 30 years, primarily within the Braathens Group. He has held various roles of responsibility regarding the interfaces between airlines and airports, which makes his experience and expertise very suitable for the task of CEO of Sweden's new airport.

Gunnar most recently came from the role as manager of BRA's stations and airport operations, i.e. responsibility for BRA's own and their outsourced stations regarding operation and various agreements with the airports.

– His experience from the customer side (airlines) will be a great asset to the airport, and we are very happy to have Gunnar join our organization, says Chairman of the Board Christian Ziese.

Gunnar succeeds Brett Weihart, who will, however, continue with the completion of the airport for regulatory approval and aviation market issues.

– Brett has done a fantastic job throughout this exciting project and we are happy to retain him, and his unique knowledge within the project, going forward, concludes Christian Ziese.

Scandinavian Mountains Airport plans to welcome the first aircraft with expectant Christmas celebrants on December 22nd.
