The Danish bicycle rental service Bycyklen, which provides the capital with rental bicycles, was subjected to a major hacker attack this weekend.
All bicycles were disconnected from the rental system's server and had to be collected and reconnected manually, reports TV2 Lorry.
The hacker attack means a major loss of income for Bycyklen, which is already struggling financially. The sunny weekend when many tourists were in the city to watch ice hockey would have meant a welcome cash boost.
The approach suggests that the perpetrator had good knowledge of how the system works. After analyzing its servers, Bycyklen confirms on its Facebook page that no customers have been affected, but urges them to change their passwords.
