London's Heathrow Airport has lost its top spot as the busiest airport in Europe. This year, Charles de Gaulle in Paris has taken over the top spot. For 2021, it is now estimated that 37 million passengers will fly through Heathrow, a decrease of 41 percent from the previous update in June.

The airport, which is owned by the Spanish company Ferrovial as well as a Chinese state fund, made a loss of 1.5 billion pounds during the first nine months.
