Heathrow wants to test everyone who lands for coronavirus

The British major airport Heathrow, which reported an 88 percent decline in travelers in July due to travel restrictions in the Covid-19 pandemic, wants to introduce corona tests upon arrival at the airport.

The demand comes after the British government introduced a 14-day quarantine upon arrival from countries such as Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Bahamas and Andorra.

”The government can save jobs by introducing testing, to remove quarantine for travel from high-risk countries,” says Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye.

He adds that tens of thousands of jobs are at stake unless travel to countries like the US, Canada and Singapore resumes.
