Car rental company Hertz will provide taxi app giant Uber's drivers with up to 25,000 electric cars in Europe, according to a press release.

The vehicles will be available in European capitals until 2025. First up is London, followed by further expansion to Paris and Amsterdam.

The venture is announced after the companies announced a similar collaboration in North America last fall. It includes no less than 50,000 Tesla-cars for drivers within Uber's network.

Uber's goal is to have an emissions-free platform in both Europe and North America by 2030.
