Finnlines' day cruises from Sweden to Åland have been popular since the start, and this summer bookings have seen another boost. Now the shipping company is announcing that from August 5, they will adjust the timetable to make the journey even smoother for Swedish travelers.
From August 5, it will be easier for Swedish travelers to make day trips to Åland and back with Finnlines. The departure from Kapellskär, just north of Stockholm, will be delayed and the departure from Långnäs on Åland will be brought forward, resulting in a shorter layover and smoother change of ships.
”We have chosen to adjust the timetable to accommodate our passengers travelling on our day cruises. When we compare day cruises with overnight trips, we see that day cruises are much more popular, especially during the summer. We believe that one reason for this is that you get to experience both of our new ships during the same trip,” says Marco Palmu, Passenger Director at Finnlines.
New bar, live music and family entertainment
On board Finnsirius and Finncanopus, several onboard experiences are offered for this summer's cruise. Enjoy the view of the sea from the ships' spa areas, with saunas, whirlpools, gyms and yoga studios. The summer also offers live music on most departures and an entertainment program for the whole family. The many restaurants and bars on board serve seasonal food and drinks that have been designed in collaboration with star chef Henri Alén, sommelier Samuil Angelov and bartender Josephine Sondlo.
”"This summer we have also opened the doors to our seasonal bar Under the Stars. The bar is located on the upper deck and serves snacks, ice cream and refreshments. Here our passengers can gather and enjoy the beautiful view of the Åland Sea", Marco Palmu, Passenger Director at Finnlines.
On a day cruise to Åland, passengers travel on the two latest additions to Finnlines' fleet. The ships are newly built and were introduced to the route at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024, respectively. The cruise starts in Kapellskär aboard Finncanopus and then changes to sister ship Finnsirius in Åland. Finnlines' day cruises are available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
