The sell-off continues from the debt-laden Chinese conglomerate HNA.

The company is now considering selling regional airline Lucky Air – a deal that would represent the first sale within HNA's core business, writes the Financial Times.

HNA is considering selling a 60 percent stake in Lucky Air to Shanghai-based China Eastern, the country's second-largest airline. The remaining 40 percent is expected to be sold to Yunnan province's state-owned asset manager Sasac.

No price has been given for Lucky Air. HNA has previously announced that it intends to primarily sell real estate and similar assets, but retain assets in the areas of aviation and tourism.

The now planned sale is one in a long line for HNA, which in a number of years before 2018 globally acquired companies for the equivalent of $50 billion. Since January of this year, HNA has sold, or agreed to sell, assets worth over $20 billion around the world.
