Air traffic resumed at Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesday morning after Tuesday's chaos. The airport also announced that it had received an order to prevent people from "illegally and deliberately obstructing" operations.

It will also be prohibited to participate in new demonstrations or protests, except in special places designated by the airport.

About 30 protesters remained at the airport, while cleaners cleared away traces of blood and debris from the night, and check-ins remained open as usual.

Thousands of protesters crowded into the airport on Tuesday afternoon, causing flight disruptions for the second day in a row.

Although most of the protesters were reported to have been peaceful, some used luggage carts to obstruct travelers. Later, protesters also clashed with police.

The police later withdrew, but by Wednesday morning local time most protesters had left the buildings.
