Starting in April, the mandatory period of quarantine for tourists in Thailand will be shortened. This applies to most visitors who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 – who will then only need to isolate for a week.
Currently, international tourists must quarantine in hotels for 14 days.
However, the new rules will not apply to travelers from African countries, who will still have to isolate themselves for two weeks – which is motivated by concerns about virus variants.
Thailand has been hit hard economically since the pandemic closed the world's borders and caused the usually steady stream of tourists to decline.
