The hotel industry has recovered from the full fall from the pandemic. In April, revenue for Sweden's hotels was 13 percent higher than April 2019, according to the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, whose figures are based on the Benchmarking Alliance.

In Stockholm, the increase is slightly smaller, plus ten percent.

It was the first month that revenues were now higher than before the corona pandemic lowered the entire industry, according to the Chamber of Commerce.

”"The trend is clearly positive throughout Sweden with more rented rooms and higher room prices. This shows that life has returned to normal again," writes Stefan Westerberg, chief economist at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.

In April this year, total accommodation revenues were SEK 1,690 million, compared to SEK 560 million in the same month last year and SEK 262 million in April 2020.
