Aviation and the environment may not always be an obvious combo, but now Jönköping Airport is going to be a little greener.
Jönköping Airport will become a so-called green airport, by installing solar cells on the airport roof.
The solar cells will start producing electricity as early as October. In total, they expect to be able to produce 200,000 kilowatt-hours per year, which is the same amount as 14 villas consume in a year.
