The British airline owner International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG), which has British Airways in its portfolio, among other things, turned a profit that was above expectations in the third quarter.
IAG's operating profit came in at 1.2 billion euros in the third quarter, which was higher than expectations of 1.1 billion euros, according to estimates from S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Turnover came in at 7.3 billion euros, which was half a billion euros better than expectations of 6.8 billion euros.
”"All of our airlines were clearly profitable and we continue to look forward to strong demand, while capacity and cabin factor improve," IAG writes.
Before IAG, the two main competitors, Lufthansa and Air France-KLM, have reported better-than-expected figures. Lufthansa's CEO wrote in his CEO's statement for the third quarter, published on Thursday, that the pandemic can now be considered over in an economic sense.
