
Now the crisis for the aviation industry is getting even worse, according to the aviation industry's cooperation organization IATA. In January, international air traffic has plunged by a whopping 86 percent, compared to the time before the pandemic. Domestic flights have decreased by 47 percent.
As new variants of the virus force governments around the world to take action, the outlook for aviation is being negatively affected, IATA warns.
