The Knäbäckshusen beach in Skåne is to be restored and opened to the public again, the municipality of Simrishamn hopes. Through a package of measures, including a collection of ideas from the public, the municipality believes this can happen as early as next summer, writes Österlenmagazine.
The iconic beach closed in 2023 when storm Babet took large parts of the beach and undermined it.
The municipal board has now instructed the public works department to bring in expert support in geotechnical engineering and supplementary measurements to make the site accessible and safe again.
According to the report that came out in 2025, you should not stay 15-20 meters closer to the beach.
