Japanese airline ANA has signed an agreement with aircraft manufacturer Boeing to purchase up to 20 787 Dreamliner planes. The deal is worth more than $5 billion, equivalent to 49 billion kronor, Boeing said in a press release.

The order of The 787 Dreamliner is ANA's sixth in a row, bringing the Japanese airline's total order to nearly 100. The new deal includes eleven 787-10s and four 787-9s, with an option to order five more.

Boeing has had a tough year following the two crashes involving the 737 Max. The full year 2019 ended with a loss on the bottom line for the first time in over 20 years, and in January Boeing did not take a single order for new aircraft, which has not happened since 1962.

ANA, like SAS, is a member of the Star Alliance airline alliance.
