These are 13 Airbus A320neo and six Boeing 787. Vistara, which is a joint venture between the Indian Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, intends to add more domestic flights and launch international routes later this year.

The airline has also purchased the rights to five additional Boeing aircraft and has an option for seven more A320neos. The company will receive an additional 37 A320neos from leasing companies.

”"India's position as the world's fastest growing domestic aviation market and the impressive increase in passenger traffic that has more than doubled in the last decade make us confident in our aggressive plans for domestic expansion and international ventures," Vistara's CEO said in a statement today.

The order comes a week before the Farnborough Airshow in the UK, where aircraft manufacturers could receive over 900 orders and commitments from companies, according to aviation consultant IBA.
