Insurance claims for air travel are increasing sharply

Remove

The number of flight delay cases has almost doubled in 2022 compared to before the pandemic, according to figures from the insurance company If.

According to Eurocontrol, the organization that controls airspace in Europe, four out of ten flights from Arlanda Airport were canceled or delayed during June and July. In total, this amounts to over 10,000 trips, and many other airports in Europe have had similar problems.

Missing your flight due to queues at the airport is not normally covered by insurance – but you can get compensation for delays or if your luggage does not arrive. The number of such cases at If has increased by 92 percent in 2022 compared to 2019.
