For the sixth time in the World Ski Awards' nine-year history, Åre takes home the award as "Sweden's Best Ski Resort." SkiStar's Radisson Blu Resort in Trysil also wins in the "Norway's Best Ski Hotel" category.
– For us, the highest priority is to be able to offer memorable mountain experiences for our guests and that starts with good and varied skiing and quality in everything from accommodation and food to activities. That is why it means a lot to us to receive this recognition and take home the victory in two categories. A big thank you to all our employees and to those who voted for us, says Stefan Sjöstrand, President and CEO of SkiStar.
Each year, the World Ski Awards selects winners from among leading hotels, destinations and travel companies. The global initiative aims to highlight those who excel in tourism through quality and uniqueness. The aim of the awards is to bring the industry together and thereby inspire innovation, local growth and a bright future.
– The fact that we are winning for the sixth time of course makes us feel a little extra proud together with all the employees and the entire industry in Åre. Times have been and are different, but this is proof that many people appreciate alpine skiing and the fantastic experience that all of Åre stands for, says Sebastian Thomasson, destination manager SkiStar Åre.
