Turkey's new airport, which will be able to handle 200 million passengers each year, will open in October.

The cost of the construction is said to be over one hundred billion kronor.

Vaulted ceilings, columns, robotic guides and an award-winning tulip-shaped traffic control tower – Istanbul's new airport is an orgy of futuristic architecture. And it's not just the design that's top notch, the airport will also be the world's largest.

In an initial phase, it will be able to accommodate 90 million passengers, but the goal is for the airport to be able to handle up to 200 million travelers when all terminals are completed in 2028. That is more than any other airport in the world.
