It's not just memories and photographs that Swedes bring home from their vacation.

According to a survey by online travel agency Ebeach, hotels can remove televisions, mirrors, and paintings.

In the survey, commissioned by Ebeach and conducted by the survey company Censuswide in 2018, more than half of Swedes steal something from their hotel room. Only 44 percent say they have never stolen anything at all when they check out.

The most common stolen item is towels at 26 percent, followed by bathrobes at 15 percent and products from the minibar, 11 percent.

But glasses, plates, cutlery, hairdryers, bedding, toilet brushes, table legs, vacuum cleaners, lamps and decorative items can also end up in suitcases.
