Convenient direct flights from Stockholm open up new opportunities. Jordan is the Middle East's new, major tourist destination. The friendly and western-oriented country has a wealth of interesting sights, cultural monuments and ancient history. The country also attracts with fantastic swimming in clear, tropical water, different city experiences and wonderful nature. Add to that a price level that is just over 30 percent lower than in Sweden.

This autumn, Jambo Tours, as the only major Nordic tour operator, is investing heavily in attractive and eventful weekly packages to Jordan. With a direct flight from Stockholm*, the flight with Royal Jordanian Airlines takes just under 5 hours and the arrival time is pleasant. This enables Jambo Tours to offer packages that start immediately after arrival in Amman or that, with a short, easy change of plane in Amman, take travelers on to the sun and beach resort of Aqaba on the Red Sea. This creates comfortable and time-efficient travel packages with the best that Jordan has to offer.

Our Jordan venture begins on October 16. Basically, we offer two travel packages, both of which are eight days and seven nights long, says Jambo Tours' travel producer Christian Magnusson. One package goes to Amman and includes a number of central Jordan's major attractions such as the famous World Heritage Site Petra and Jerash and ends at the Red Sea. The other package goes to Aqaba for days of sun and swimming, but also includes a visit to Petra.

Amman, the capital of Jordan, is a lively and safe city full of attractions, good restaurants and exciting, exotic environments. There have been urban settlements here for over 9000 years, as the center of several high cultures. From the biblical city of Rabath Ammon, which historically bore the name Philadelphia, a number of highly interesting architectural attractions remain, such as the great theater, the Odeion and the Temple of Hercules, dedicated to Marcus Aurelius and built in the first century AD.

During Jambo Tours trips, most of Jordan's famous sites are visited. In addition to Amman's historical attractions, the Amman package includes trips to biblical sites such as Bethany, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus, and Mount Nebo, from where Moses viewed the Promised Land on the other side of the Jordan River, as well as to the historic Roman city of Jerash. For centuries, Jerash lay buried under desert sands, before it was rediscovered in the late 19th century and subsequently excavated. In addition to sun, swimming and snorkeling, the Aqaba tour includes a day trip to the rock-hewn city and World Heritage Site of Petra.

In total, Jambo Tours Jordan program includes over 20 departures with departure and return on Mondays during the period October 2023 to April 2024. Prices from 15,850 SEK per person for a share in a double room. Extensions are arranged upon request for travelers who, for example, want more time in Aqaba for sun, swimming, diving, golf or other things. Those who wish to upgrade their flight with a business class seat can do so at a favorable price, subject to space.

* Connecting flights from other departure points in Sweden and from Copenhagen are operated by SAS for an additional fee.
