Johan Lundgren has been unanimously elected as the new Chairman of the Board of TUI AG. He will succeed Dieter Zetsche after the company's Annual General Meeting in February 2027 and will therefore only take office then.

The TUI AG board of directors has already decided to appoint Johan Lundgren as the next chairman. The appointment is to succeed Dieter Zetsche, who will not stand for re-election when his term of office expires.

Lundgren has served on the TUI AG board of directors since 2025 and was unanimously elected by both the shareholder and employee representatives on the board.

The actual change in the chairmanship will take place in connection with the Annual General Meeting in February 2027. Until then, Dieter Zetsche will continue as Chairman of the Board.

Was easyJet CEO for seven years

Johan Lundgren has a long background in both the travel and aviation industries.

Between 2017 and the end of 2024, he was CEO of easyJet. Prior to that, he was part of the group management and was deputy CEO of the British TUI Travel.

After the merger between TUI AG and TUI Travel, he held a corresponding role within the new TUI Group until the summer of 2015.

Started at Fritidsresor in 1986

The appointment also marks a return to the company where Lundgren began his career.

He started at Swedish Leisure Travel in 1986. The business is today TUI Sweden and is part of TUI's Nordic organization.

Lundgren thus has around 40 years of experience in the travel industry when he takes up the position of Chairman of the Board of TUI AG after the Annual General Meeting in February 2027.
