She will take up her position on June 7, 2022.

– It has been an important and careful recruitment process. The board has great confidence that Josefine, with her experience and skills, will be able to lead the continued development of Svenskt Friluftsliv. With Josefine in place, I feel confident that we, together with our member organizations, will get even closer to our vision of More Outdoor Life for Everyone, says Susanne Maarup, who is very satisfied with the recruitment.

Josefine is a multiple award-winning leader with many years of managerial and leadership experience at a strategic level from Uppsala Municipality, where she was responsible for the development of Uppsala as a sports and leisure city. She has also run companies in the field of wellness and health. Josefine is therefore very experienced in representing and collaborating with organizations in civil society and in driving change through the use of engagement in democratic contexts.

– A perfect match, especially with the situation we are in developing Svenskt Friluftsliv further given the increased funding. We also see that Josefine, with her knowledge and experience, together with the employees at the office, can develop the business further. Josefine is a driving and confident leader who also sees and understands different perspectives on issues and people. This, combined with an aptitude for thinking strategically, setting goals and challenging but also rolling up her sleeves and implementing things herself without prestige, was among many other strengths that we fell for in choosing Josefine, concludes Susanne Maarup.

– I feel proud and honored to have been appointed as the new Secretary General of Swedish Outdoor Activities. Swedish Outdoor Activities is facing an exciting development, the pressure and demand for nature and outdoor activities is increasing and the government grant has doubled. This provides good conditions to promote and develop outdoor activities in Sweden together with our member organizations. An important and exciting assignment, now I am really looking forward to starting work and getting to know the organization and its partners, says Josefine Åhrman.
