The DIY group Jula's hotel business is buying Hotell Gyllene Uttern, south of Gränna. The aim is to continue expansion in the Swedish hotel market.

It's Christmas Eve Holdings hotel operations, Jula Hotell, which is buying the business. The plan is to open as early as the summer, depending on the pace of Corona restrictions.

With the acquisition of Gyllene Uttern, there are now three hotels in the Jula Group: Jula Hotell Konst Konferens, Jula Hotell Stadt Kongress, and Jula Hotell Gyllene Uttern.

The aim is now to continue expansion in the Swedish market, writes the family-owned company in a press release.

Gyllene Uttern was declared bankrupt earlier this year after the coronavirus pandemic hit the business hard, while the company's former owner passed away. The hotel started as a roadside inn in the 1930s and the location, overlooking Lake Vättern, has become a popular resting place.
