Demand for travel in the Nordic region continues to increase – and at Viking Line, more than half of travellers now come from abroad. This is evident from new figures showing a clear Nordic travel boom.
The increased proportion of international travellers reflects a growing interest in the Nordic region as a destination, with travellers from Central Europe and Asia particularly contributing to the development.
At the same time, regional travel also continues to be strong. The combination of Nordic travellers and a recovery in international tourism is creating high passenger volumes for the shipping company.
During peak seasons, Viking Line has seen clear increases, with the summer months attracting large volumes of travellers, and the tourist season extending further into autumn thanks to foreign visitors.
Developments show that the Nordic region has become increasingly attractive as a travel destination, while ferry traffic plays an important role in connecting the region.
For Viking Line, the trend means both increased opportunities and confirmation that investments in international markets and experience-based travel are proving effective.
