Strawberry was nominated in 4 out of 7 categories at The International Hotel Technology Forum (IHTF) Europe 2025 thanks to the extensive work over the past two years to renew the company's entire technology park.
The transformation was one of the largest digitalization projects in Europe within the tourism industry. The work was completed in the summer of 2024 and is now operational across all 250 hotels in the company’s portfolio. During The International Technology Forum Europe 2025, Strawberry was a finalist in 4 out of 7 categories.
– There has been a major technological boost that has been made in the company over the past two years and we are very proud that we are now also receiving international recognition. Being a finalist in 4 out of 7 categories is a victory in itself and it is certainly extra nice that our CTO, Kari Anna Fiskvik, wins the CIO of the Year award, says Eirik Bogsnes, Group Director at Strawberry.
During this year's awards ceremony, there were seven awards to be presented. Strawberry was a finalist in the categories: AI Adoption of the Year, Hotel App of the Year, In-Room Guest Tech of the Year for Clarion Hotel Post and Clarion Hotel Karlatornet for Mobile Key in partnership with Zaplox and CTO/CIO of the Year.
– There is no doubt that the work we have done in the company is being recognized and I am of course extra proud that we are finalists in over half of the categories. It means a lot and gives us a real boost, but also the courage to continue our work to create seamless guest experiences and pave the way for innovation in the industry, says Kari Anna Fiskvik, CTO at Strawberry.
And it was in the CTO/CIO of the Year category that Strawberry took home the victory, with Fiskvik at the top.
– First of all, it is incredibly exciting to be a finalist among so many talented companies. Of course, it is also fun to go home with a prize in my bag that I can share with all my wonderful colleagues in the company, says Fiskvik.
Last week it was also announced that Strawberry, represented by Kari Anna Fiskvik, is one of the companies that will participate in an expert group where members from the public and private sectors will collaborate to create a guide for how Norwegian companies can develop and use artificial intelligence in a simple, safe and innovative way. The expert group is broadly composed and consists of representatives from the labor market, NHO and LO and is led by Digital Norway with participation from the Norwegian Digitalisation Agency.
– This has clearly been an extremely good week for tech and for us at Strawberry, concludes Fiskvik.
