”It feels like coming home after a long trip,” says Katarina Romell.

With a successful hotel career under her belt, she takes over as CEO of Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden.

For the spring-winter season, Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden welcomes a new CEO who is actually a close acquaintance of Saltsjöbaden. While Katarina Romell was CEO of SAS Radison Strand Hotel in Stockholm, she was hotel director at Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden from 1996 until the Wallenberg family sold the hotel in 2000. From 2006 to 2016, she was CEO of nearby Vår Gård Saltsjöbaden, which is owned by KF.

Katarina Romell is now leaving the CEO position of her husband Melker Andersson's restaurants, the f12 group, where she remains as chairwoman of the board.

”"Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden is a jewel, which for a number of years in the 2000s was something of a neglected child. During the years at Vår Gård, I often glanced at the beautiful building with its absolutely unique location, and thought that someone might come and save it."”

”"So gratifying that there are now new owners with strength and ambition. We want to make Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden unique again, a hotel where history meets the new era," continues Katarina.

”"We are really looking forward to bringing Katarina here. She has unbeatable experience in running hotels and extensive knowledge of the entire hospitality industry. Since we want to develop the hotel area with new attractive housing, it is even more important to have a particularly attractive hotel as the center of everything," says Niklas Järvhammar, chairman of Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden and CEO of the real estate company Lustgården AB, which has owned Grand Hotel Saltsjöbaden since 2015.
