Kim A. Øverland has experience from several hotels in the group and most recently came from the role of hotel director at the Norwegian hotel The Well outside Oslo.

Just days after Kim A. Øverland was presented as the new CEO of The Well, it is clear that he will instead take over the position as Senior Vice President of Clarion Hotel in the Nordics.

– It is certainly a bit special to resign so early after changing jobs, but this opportunity is unique and perhaps only comes once in a lifetime. I know Clarion Hotel as a premium brand within the Nordic hotel market and to have the opportunity to be part of the incredibly exciting path that Strawberry has ahead of it was impossible to say no to, says Kim A. Øverland.

Clarion Hotel currently consists of 33 hotels in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark, with five more hotels in the pipeline. The chain has a full-service concept with restaurant, bar, wellness and spa and the hotels are located either centrally in major cities or directly adjacent to airports.

– Clarion Hotel is the chain in Strawberry that delivers that little extra. To lead the development of the brand, give our employees the best conditions to deliver the best guest experiences, and ensure that we meet the ambitious goals we have, we could not find anyone better than Kim Øverland. I am incredibly happy that he agreed to lead Clarion Hotel, says Katalin Paldeak, Chief Operating Officer for the chain hotels in Strawberry.

Øverland has spent most of his career in Norway, initially at the former Quality Spa & Resort Holmsbu, where he also received professional training in the hotel industry. He then moved on to Norefjell Ski & Spa and Kragerø Resort. After this, he has been at Fredensborg and Canica, before now returning to Strawberry after a short stint at The Well, where he also served on the board.

– I am leaving a wonderful hotel and spa with incredibly wonderful people, I wish them all the best, before I have actually started. The timing would have been different, but with such a chance you can't choose the time. The ambitions that Strawberry has set are completely unique and the most exciting in the tourism industry in all of Northern Europe. To be able to put my mark on that history is like a dream come true for me, who has always wanted to be in this industry, says Øverland.

According to the press release.
