A passenger aircraft from the Dutch airline KLM was forced to abort an approach to Linköping city airport after receiving a warning in the cockpit, caused by a military aircraft, according to the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration.
Saab announces that there were two aircraft that came too close to each other.
”"I can confirm that two aircraft, one of which was a Gripen, came a little closer to each other on Thursday than the regulations prescribe, and then some standard procedures and actions come into play, which happened in this case," writes Mattias Rådström, press manager at Saab, to TT.
Corrin, which has reported on the incident, has spoken to a person who was on board the passenger plane. The person tells the newspaper that the KLM plane had to make an evasive maneuver.
The KLM plane was then able to land without incident, according to the Swedish Civil Aviation Authority.
”"The question of whether the incident should be investigated by the Swedish Accident Investigation Board or not cannot be answered by them," says Rådström.
