– The board is pleased that Kristina Sandberg has accepted the appointment. It creates security for the organization and our funders that the operations can now continue stably until a new secretary general is recruited, says Kent Persson, chairman of the board of ECPAT Sweden.

– ECPAT is in full swing planning efforts during the election year where the issue of child sex trafficking is one of the most important issues. The board has quickly appointed an acting secretary general to lead the operation forward during the period in which a recruitment process is underway to find a new secretary general. During 2017, interest in the issues has increased and more and more people are willing to support our operations. We feel confident in being able to recruit a new leader for our operations and Kristina Sandberg will be able to contribute to ECPAT moving its positions forward during the important operating year of 2018, says Kent Persson.

– I am proud and happy to have been entrusted by the board to lead ECPAT during this period. Our work is important and there is still much that we can contribute to in the legislative work, in the dissemination of knowledge and engagement on the issue. ECPAT has many important projects that are now being started in 2018, where each project contributes to combating child sex trafficking globally and nationally. Now, together with my colleagues in the office and the board, I am preparing to make 2018 one of ECPAT's best operating years, says Kristina Sandberg.
