On August 24, Kungsträdgården in Stockholm will be filled with inspiration and flavors from South Korea when the Korean Culture Festival takes over the stage. The festival offers both traditional and modern Korean culture and offers an experience-rich day for all ages.

This year's participants include the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), South Korea's official tourism agency. KTO works internationally to increase knowledge about the country and highlight its unique culture, nature and history. During the festival, the organization will be on site with its own tent where visitors can take advantage of travel information and brochures about South Korea. Two tour operators will also participate in the KTO tent and offer the opportunity to book trips directly on site during the day.

The Korean Culture Festival was first organized in 2016 at the initiative of the South Korean Embassy in Sweden. Since then, the event has grown into an annual summer event, and last year's festival attracted over 30,000 visitors. The program offers both cultural heritage and popular culture, with everything from traditional dance and crafts to modern K-pop, K-dance and street food.

In addition to fast-paced stage performances, visitors can participate in K-dance workshops, try tying a Norigae, fold one Bojagi or try traditional games like Yutnori, Tuho, Gongginori or Jegichagi.
Interest in Korean culture has increased significantly in Sweden over the past decade, something that is noticeable not only in music and food, but also in travel. From September 2025, it will be easier than ever to travel to South Korea when SAS launches a direct route between Copenhagen and Seoul with three departures a week – an initiative that will make the journey smoother for travelers from all over Scandinavia.
