Lifeguards strike in Mallorca

Remove

On Sunday, Mallorca's lifeguards will leave their posts in protest.

A strike has been declared for an indefinite period, a spokesperson for Mallorca Newspaper.

The strike comes after a long-running conflict over the situation for people with disabilities.

There is a lack of both ramps for wheelchair users and adaptations to toilets at the beaches, according to the union.

“This is discrimination,” says a spokesperson.

– If people die, it's not our fault.
