Remove

More and more people are flying in Sweden during the first month of the year.

A total of 2.9 million passengers flew to or from state-owned airline Swedavia's airports in January. This is two percent more than in January last year.

The number has increased significantly during the nine years that Swedavia's statistics cover – nine years ago, in January 2009, there were 1.8 million passengers flying.

International travel is increasing in number, while domestic travel is at about the same level. The increase is primarily at the major airports of Arlanda (two percent increase), Landvetter (two percent) and Bromma (three percent).

Over the past twelve months, the number of air travelers has increased by a total of six percent. Swedavia operates a total of ten airports in Sweden.
