At the annual meeting of the Nature Tourism Companies on March 29, Linda Vismer, Strängnäs, was elected as the new chairwoman of the association.
– I am proud and humbled by the trust to lead the Nature Tourism Companies in such an interesting time as the association is in, says Linda Vismer.
Linda grew up in Västerbotten and previously lived in Stockholm for many years. For the past year, she has been living in Strängnäs with her husband and two children.
– My goal is to create effective board work so that the association can be even better equipped to create member benefits and take advantage of all the potential that exists in the expertise and commitment that nature tourism entrepreneurs collectively have. We will be a stable and growing association that is seen as the obvious industry organization for all nature tourism entrepreneurs to be a member of and we will be the given voice to listen to.
– To create sustainable tourism, it needs to be easy for travelers and visitors to make the right choice, and therefore we will ensure that we maximize the power of the Natures Best quality label, says Lina Vismer.
Linda has been running the travel blog for many years. travelconsciously.se. She has recently started her own company where she supports and strengthens actors in the tourism and hospitality industry who want to improve their social sustainability through training, support for boards and as a process manager.
She also holds positions in Ecpat, which works against the sexual exploitation of children, and in Sustainable Tourism Sweden (formerly Schyst resande).
In 2022 she published the book "The Power of the Traveler - Tourism That Feeds and Depletes".
– Linda stepping in as chair means that we can work effectively in this restructuring of the organization. It will be good for both the business and the members that we can now work focused and with clarity in the structure over the next year, says Camilla Jönsson, Secretary General.
Camilla is now stepping into the role of general secretary fully. For the past two years, Joakim Hermanson and Camilla have worked in different periods as general secretary because Joakim has been on parental leave and leave of absence. Joakim is now leaving the organization to work full-time with his company Upplevelsebolaget.
