A lawsuit has been filed in New York against Live Nation, the concert promoter that also controls ticketing giant Ticketmaster, accusing it of violating antitrust laws.

The California-based company is a giant in the entertainment industry. In 2025, Live Nation organized 55,000 events worldwide that attracted 159 million visitors.

The government accuses the concert organizer of abusing its dominant position to pressure artists and venues to sign contracts with them, hinder competition and impose unreasonable fees on ticket sales.

According to American media, Live Nation tried until the very end to negotiate a settlement with the Department of Justice to avoid a lawsuit, but without success.
