A technical fault caused London to cancel all air traffic this afternoon, reports The Telegraph. Several flights to and from Sweden are affected.
The problems arose at the control center during the afternoon and all planes in London was stopped, reports The Telegraph.
“We apologize for any delays this may cause. Our engineers are working hard to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and we are working closely with the airlines to minimize disruption,” a spokesperson for Nats, which is responsible for air traffic control in London, told The Telegraph.
At 5:35 p.m. it was announced that the problems had been fixed.
– We are in the process of resuming normal operations in the London area, they said in a statement, according to the BBC.
Swedish flights are delayed
According to Sky News, the incident is expected to lead to delays during the evening. Flights to and from Sweden are also affected by the error. Norwegian Air's departures, among others, are affected.
