SAS's booking statistics for Easter 2026 show a clear pattern: Swedish travelers are either looking for classic European cities or more southern destinations with sun and warmth - and often to destinations that offer both.

Paris, Berlin and Amsterdam continue to be strong choices for city breaks, with a wide range of culture and restaurants. Meanwhile, Málaga and Alicante attract travelers seeking warmer temperatures. This shows that many Swedes are choosing shorter trips to European destinations during Easter, with a focus on big cities and destinations with warmer climates.

Demand for Easter is strong and this year we see that many choose a combination of classic European cities and destinations with warmer climates. London tops the list, while Málaga and Milan show that many want to combine the big city and the sun. From Arlanda we offer our customers smooth and punctual connections in our European network during the Easter holidays,” says Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS.

To meet the increasing demand for Southern European destinations, SAS is launching a new direct route between Stockholm and Madrid. At the same time, SAS will add extra departures to Southern Europe during the spring on selected, busy travel days from both Copenhagen and Stockholm.

During Easter, SAS offers a wide range of departures from Stockholm, with good opportunities to travel both directly and via its international hub in Copenhagen.

How our Nordic neighbours travel

In Denmark, London, Paris and Milan top the list of most booked destinations, with a clear focus on classic European cities. At the same time, there is continued strong interest in Southern Europe, where Málaga, Rome and Palma de Mallorca are among the most popular destinations.

In Norway, demand is strong for both big cities and sun destinations. London and Paris are at the top, while destinations such as Alicante, Málaga and Las Palmas – with warmer climates – attract many travelers at Easter.
