Two carriages have become detached from a train traveling between Malmö and Stockholm, reports Aftonbladet. The carriages became detached when the Snälltåget braked at Mjölby station at half past seven.
– It shook and then it slowed down and now it's stopped. A good distance ahead of us is the locomotive and a carriage, Stefan Widar tells Östgöta Correspondenten after the incident.
Why the split occurred is still unclear.
– I can't answer that, it will be investigated as usual, says Benny Josefsson at the Swedish Transport Administration's press service to TT.
No one was injured, but the incident caused a halt to train traffic in southern Sweden. The tracks reopened to traffic shortly after 9:15 p.m. However, there are still delays.
