British low-cost airline Easyjet is raising its revenue forecast for the first half of the year after strong performance in the first quarter.

Revenue was up almost ten percent to £1.43 billion in the quarter. Per-seat revenue rose 8.7 percent.

The forecast for the first half of the year is now that revenue per seat will increase by a mid- to high-single digit number, compared to the previous assessment of an increase of a low- to medium-single digit number.

The pre-tax profit for the first half of the year is expected to be a smaller loss than last year's minus 275 million pounds.

Easyjet flew 22.2 million passengers in the first quarter (21.6), and had a cabin load factor of 91.3 percent (89.7).
