Easyjet forecasts that pre-tax profit will come in at the top of the guidance range for the 2018/2019 financial year, following a strong fourth quarter, according to a press release.
British airline Easyjet has reported robust demand, revenue growth and cost discipline in line with expectations during the final part of the financial year, despite a continued difficult aviation market.
The low-cost airline has had some traction from strikes at competitors British Airways and Ryanair, says CEO Johan Lundgren.
”Our self-service initiatives have resulted in increased demand due to disruptions at Ryanair and British Airways,” he says.
Passenger growth increased by 8.6 percent during the year, helped by capacity growth of 10.3 percent.
The airline forecasts pre-tax profit to be between £420m and £430m, the company wrote. At the same time, guidance for the first quarter of 2020 is maintained in line with what is expected for the full year 2020, which is ”at the lower end of our historical growth range.”.
