Low-cost airlines increased passenger numbers in August

Wizz Air increased its passenger numbers by 23.9 percent to 6.1 million in August, compared to the same month a year earlier. The previous month, growth was 26.6 percent.

Ryanair is also reporting rising figures.

The cabin load factor was 94.1 percent in August (94.9).

Low-cost competitor Ryanair's passenger numbers amounted to 18.9 million in August, up slightly from July.

The cabin factor for Ryanair was 96 percent in August (96).
